Plasterboard

We stock a large range of British Gypsum plasterboard including standard wallboard, fireline, soundbloc, moisture resistant, foilback board, wallboard TEN and plank. It comes in a range of different thicknesses and sizes, and has either a tapered or square edge finish.We are fortunate enough to be supplied with local gypsum rock from Brightling, only a 20minute drive away.

Different boards are designed with specific additives to meet building regulations or performance needs: 

  • Standard Wallboard: Most common for general use in dry areas like bedrooms or living rooms. It often has an ivory face.

  • Moisture-Resistant: Features a green face and water-repellent additives. Ideal for high-humidity areas like kitchens and bathrooms, though it is not fully waterproof.

  • Fire-Resistant: Typically has a pink or red face and contains glass fibre or other fire-retardant additives to slow the spread of flames.

  • Acoustic (Sound) Board: A denser, blue-faced board designed to absorb sound waves and reduce noise transmission between rooms.

  • Insulated Plasterboard: Includes a layer of foam insulation (like PIR) bonded to the back, improving thermal efficiency in one installation step.

Standard & Performance board

Standard Wallboard suitable for most wall and ceiling applications where minimal levels of fire, structural and acoustic performance specified.

Performance boards available include Fireline for enhanced fire performance, Soundbloc for enhanced acoustic performance, and Moisture Resistant for enhanced moisture performance.
